Music Recommendation System
Built an interactive recommendation system using R
Achieved 81% in my dissertation at Strathclyde University by designing and building a content-based music recommendation system in RStudio using a Spotify dataset. I normalised key audio features and applied Euclidean distance to identify similar tracks based on user preferences. Developed a Shiny interface to make the tool interactive and user-friendly. The project demonstrated practical application of statistical analysis and coding to solve a real-world problem. ​
Industry Layoff trends
Layoff trends exploration with MySQL
Performed exploratory data analysis on a global tech layoffs dataset using MySQL. I investigated trends across industries, countries, and companies, uncovering patterns such as peak layoff periods, top affected firms, and year-on-year changes. Built queries to analyse layoff severity, rolling monthly totals, and industry-specific impacts. The project demonstrated my ability to extract insights from raw data, write efficient SQL queries, and present meaningful business patterns without predefined goals.
AirBnB Insights
Interactive Airbnb insights with Tableau
Developed a Tableau dashboard to analyse Airbnb performance data. Visualised monthly revenue trends, average price by ZIP code, and price differences by bedroom count. This project demonstrated my ability to design clear, interactive visuals that highlight key business metrics and support data-driven decisions.​
